HOOAH! Commuting Soldiers
by RL PolicarSoldiers stationed in the Defense Distribution Depot in Susquehanna Pennsylvania commute every chance they get from their homes to the the base. It’s about a 14 mile round trip for the 3 US Army Sgts. (left is SGT Kasey Carr middle is SGT Eri Ramos right SGT Randy Policar).

Sgt. Randy Policar stated ” Sometimes for PT (Physical Training), we ride our bikes from post to City Island in Harrisburg.” Commuting to the base has allowed all three of the GI’s to feel refreshed, stress free and a sense of accomplishment by riding in every morning. Not only do they feel good, but their commitment to commuting has enabled each one of them to drop a few pounds here and there.
Great job guys! I salute you for commuting!

Thanks to all the men and women who have been,
and who still are in service to this country.
My daughter is in the Air force and is currently
stationed at Ft Gordon in Augusta Georgia.
I had occasion to visit her there, and spent
some hours cycling on base. I have never had
such a relaxing ride on roads with motor
vehicles as I did on that base. Everyone simply
followed the rules. I found it incredible.
I am hopeful that practically any military base
will have similarly well behaved traffic.
I will seriously consider riding on base if I am
in need of recreational riding and am near a base.
