Yukon HL Bike (Headlight) - First Impressions
November 2nd, 2005 by j jPrinceton Tec was kind enough to allow me to test one of their lights - The Yukon HL Bike headlight. Check back soon for a full review. For now though, here are my first impressions.
The first thing I noticed was how rugged the light appeared. The cable has thick flexible insulation, the bracket (and everything that’s plastic) is a very thick, heavy duty plastic. More than twice as thick as the plastic on my current headlight. The headlamp itself is rubber coated. The lens cap is threaded on by a very deep, fine thread, and sealed with an 0-ring. The battery pack resides in a lined case (for shock absorption I presume) with heavy, thick, velcro straps to attach to the frame. This light will not fall apart. It looks rugged, and I’ll bet it is. All of the components look like good quality.
